Launch of the G7 GovAI Grand Challenge
The Challenge begins with a two-week intensive competition, called Rapid Solution Labs, to advance the responsible use of AI for public services. Teams or individuals will tackle real public sector challenges by developing practical, scalable AI solutions that can be adopted across governments worldwide—supported by expert advisors. It runs from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, brings together experts and innovators from across the G7 and European Union (EU) to develop practical AI solutions to make citizen centric public services faster and more efficient.
What We Heard: Defining GC Information and Data Policy Strengths and Challenges

Canada to host G7 Industry, Digital and Technology Ministers’ Meeting in Montréal
Canada welcomes G7 Ministers in Montreal from December 8 to 9, 2025. G7 Energy and AI Work Plan
G7 Energy Ministers have launched the G7 Energy and Artificial Intelligence Work Plan, a roadmap to harness AI for smarter, cleaner, and more resilient energy systems.
