Visiting scholars

The visiting scholar initiatives at the Canada School of Public Service bring experts together to share their knowledge and expertise with public servants on a variety of topics while offering perspectives on how to meet the present and future needs of people in Canada through two dedicated initiatives: the Jocelyne Bourgon Visiting Scholar Initiative and the Ian D. Shugart Visiting Scholar Initiative.

Visiting scholars gain valuable experience working within the federal government, including access to new knowledge and expertise, data sources, networking opportunities, and practical insights into how the federal government operates. They also benefit from increased visibility within the government and public administration communities, and the opportunity to leave a lasting impact through their unique contributions.
